What is a normal body temperature?

What is a normal BP for an adult?
120/80 or 110/70 mmHg
What is a normal pulse range?
60-80 BPM
How do you manually check the pulse rate?
Place two fingers on the inner wrist (radial pulse) count the number of beats over 30 seconds and double.
What is a normal respiratory rate for an adult?
12 - 18 breaths per min.
How do you record respiratory rate?
Monitor rise and fall for 30 seconds and double the result.
What is BP measurement based on?
Korotkoff sounds -K1 to K5
What is K1 in terms of BP?
An audible sharp thud (systolic)
What is K2 in terms of Bp?
Blowing /swishing sound
What is K3 in terms of BP?
Thudding sound
What is K4 in terms of BP?
Muffled sound
What is K5 in terms of BP?
Blood flow laminar (distolic)
What artery is the BP cuff placed over?
Brachial artery
How is BP written?
Systolic over diastolic
What is high pulse rate called?
Tachycardia
What is a low pulse rate called?
Bradycardia
