Equipment Flashcards
What part of the imaging system receives the x ray bean that exits the patient?
The imagine intensifier
What does the imaging intensifier do?
Converts the x-ray into light image that is recorded by an internal camera
What do the imaging monitors do?
Captures images from the intensifiers which then displayed on the imaging monitors
How many defibrillators must an OR have?
2; a primary and back up
What is the junction/Box pin?
Allows cables connected to the EP catheters to directly plug into an interface with the EP recording system
What does the ablation generator do?
Regulates the ablative energy used for cardiac ablations
What does the amplifier do?
conditions, filters, and amplifies all incoming ECG/EGM signals between the patient and recording system
What must be done to catheters and needles before being interested into a patient?
They must be heparinized
Explain sheath matching catheters
The minimum sheath size for a catheter is the same size. Ex. a 7 Fr catheter would have a minimum of 7 F sheath
How do you find diameter size of a catheter?
Take the catheter size and divid by 3
How do you find catheter size by the diameter?
Take the diameter and multiply it by 3
The larger the needle gauge the Larger or smaller the needle?
Smaller
Access needles are also known ad what kind of needles?
Seldinger
