AHS is a viral disease transmitted via midges causing fever, raspatory distress and swelling of head and neck

vaccinate, keep horses inside at high risk periods, cover window with shade or cloth,

it is involuntary muscular action and can occur in the oesophagus

What causes ulcers
When the stomach is empty the acid destroys the non protected squamous cells in the saccus caecus regen of the stomach.
This causes the stomach lining to ulcerate
why is it important for horses to chew
The teeth are essential for chewing (mechanical digestion)
chewing initiates saliva production
saliva buffers and protects effects of AA in the stomach (acidity)
