Equations Flashcards
What is the dependency ratio?
It is an age-population ratio of those typically not in the labor
force (the dependent part) and those typically in the labor
force (the productive part)

Crude birth rate
dynamic demography

fertility rate
dynamic demography

crude mortality rate

swaroop index
The higher the level of health of a population the closer to 100%

mortality rate by age

Infant mortality rate

neonatal mortality rate

Average deviation

Variance

Sample variance

Standard deviation

Sample standard deviation

Coefficient of variation

odds ratio
compares the probability of an event/disease of those exposed to the probability of event/disease of those unexposed
-Ratio where the numerator is the probability of an event (p) and the denominator is the probability that the event does not occur (1 - p).

Rate
The numerator: absolute frequency of an event (disease).
The denominator is the population at risk or also the sum of the individual risk periods to which the susceptible subjects of the target population have been exposed.

cumulative incidence
e estimated risk of contracting the disease over a period of time

incidence rate
