The decline of regionally important manufacturing industries.

Internal migrant
someone who moves from place to place inside the borders of a county - globally- most move from rural to urban areas however in the developed world ppl also move from urban to rural areas (counter-urbanisation)
urbanisation
an increase in the proportion of people living n urban areas
economic migrant
a migrant whose primary motivation is to seek employment - migrants who already had a job may set off in search of better pay, more regular pay, promotion or a change of career.
Refugee
a person who is forced to flee their homes due to persecution, whether on an individual basis or as part of a mass exodus due to political, religious or otehr probles.
intervening obstacles
barriers to a migrant such as a political border or physical feature (deserts, mountains, rivers)
Natural increase
the difference between a society’s crude birth rate and crude death rate
mega city
a city with more than £10 million people
centripetal migration
movement of people directed towards teh centre of urban areas
Global hub
A highly globally connected city that has become the focal point for activities with a global influence such as trade ,business, international governance or education and research
