veracity, power, authority, clarity, necessity, sufficiency
what is veracity in Gods written word?
at its foundation it is true;
reflective of real realities
justifiable
worth our belief
Why does veracity (truth) matter?
if it is not true it is useless and because it is true it is of extreme value
What is Power in Gods written word?
It does might things
(create the world, directs nature, sanctifies, saves souls)
in light of the power of God’s written word, we go:
with humility, expecting to be changed,
expecting God’s purposes to be accomplished, as a source more than academic text.
what is authority in Gods written word?
it is the supreme standard for belief, action, and desire
Why is Gods Word authoritative?
because it it inerrant, comes from an authoritative God.

perfect, loving, omniscient, omnipotent, cannot lie
Script is justified and true because…?
the authority of its author
What is the highest source of authority?
the scriptures
What is clarity in Gods written word?
we can understand his word through the Holy Spirit (deut 30:11-14)
Is all of scripture clear?
no; not all are equally understandable, some interpret differently, some are mysterious
what is necessity in Gods written word?
without God’s Word, it is impossible to come to saving faith, know about God, fully understand the human condition, live in Christ.
what is sufficiency in Gods written word?
We know all we need to fulfill God and his will and how to live to please him
