features of generalised clonic tonic seizures
muscle stiffness muscle jerking jerking movements can include all 4 limbs urinary incompetence groaning foaming in the mouth and lateral tongue biting and irritable after wards
what are the features of absent seizures
common in children who stop what they r doing and go blank they are unresponsive
juvenile myoclonic, mycolonic
can happen in the morning only one limb can be involved can be triggerd by sleep deprivation alcohol brief moments
atonic
sudden drops remainwake and begin in childhood

simple partial seizures and complex
features of simple partial seizures
patient is a wake but had no recognition usually effects the temporal lobes - speach language and emotion
complex partial seizures
patient is not awake they get auras stange sensations before lip smaking is common
what is the first line treatments for acute seizures
in hopsital IV lorazepam
in the community
rectal diazepam or midazolam
what is the second line for status epileptics

who is sodium valporate not ok for
pregancy or woman can cause weigh gain neausia ataxia hepatitis
what is a side effect of levetriacetal
irritable depression
lamotrigine
least interactions van make myotonis worse (muscles cant relax) can cause a rash
phenytoin
arrithmias
