Sudden, violent, cramping, spasmodic pain, or recurrent colicky pain from foods, better with warmth, worse with pressure; absence of thirst, warm drinks; nausea or vomiting; may be external symptoms.
T: normal or pale, white coat
P: wiry or tight, slow
TX: Warm the middle Jiao, disperse Cold, stop pain

T: thick, greasy white or yellow coat
P: slippery and full
TX: Eliminate stagnant food, regulate digestion

T: normal or dark, thin white coat. If heat, red, yellow coat
P: wiry (and rapid)

Stomach Heat (Fire)
Fixed, sharp, stabbing, boring pain, worse with pressure, eating and at night; begins as intermittent pain but becomes constant; nausea, belching, reflux, in severe cases vomiting coffee ground like material, stools black and tarry; dark, purplish complexion or pale if def.; spider naevi on cheeks, over epigastrium, inner ankle, knee; poor appetite anorexia; weight loss.
T: dark or purplish, purple or brown stasis spots;
P: wiry or thready and choppy
TX: Transform, eliminate Blood stasis, stop pain; nourish Blood, stop bleeding, soften Liver (if necessary)

Blood Stagnation
Chronic mild, dull, nagging, continuous pain, relieved by warmth, pressure, eating warm, cooked foods; vomiting thin, watery fluids; poor appetite or anorexia; loose stools or diarrhea; abdominal distention, worse with eating; borborygmus; tired, heavy, lethargic, worse after meals; fluid retention in fingers, eyelids and abdomen; waxy pale or sallow complexion; cold extremities, cold intolerance; weight loss
T: pale, swollen, scalloped, thins to thick greasy
P: moderate, weak, or deep, slow
TX: Warm, strengthen SP/ST, harmonize ST, stop pain, transform Phlegm Damp

Vague, dull, nagging or burning pain worse when ST is empty, may improve with pressure; pain worse at night, waking with pain in early morning; dry mouth, throat, mucosa, skin; thirst for cool drinks; mild nausea worse in morning and when hungry; poor appetite or indeterminate gnawing hunger with no desire to eat; constipation or dry stool.
T: slightly red, peeled in center, or red, dry, no coat
P: thready, rapid or thready, wiry.
TX: Nourish ST Yin, generate fluids, clear empty Heat
