Absolute risk reduction
Absolute Risk Reduction (ARR) = the AR of events in the control group - the AR of events in the treatment group
Number needed to treat
1/ ARR (% events in control - % of events in treatment group)
Relative risk
Events in the treatment group/events in the control group
Absolute Risk
Number of events in the group/Total number of people in that group
Relative Risk Reduction
1 - RR (which is events in treatment/events in control)
Sensitivity
People who tested positive/ All people with the disease
Specificity
People who tested negative/all people WITHOUT the disease
= d/(b+d)
PPV
People who tested positive AND HAD THE DISEASE/ All people who tested positive
NPV
People who tested negative and DID NOT HAVE THE DISEASE/ All people who tested negative
