EP - High Speed Malfunctions

Question 1

Hard pull

Answer 1

If initial pull is unsuccessful (attempt 1)
Reach across body with left hand use punching motion to assist right hand (attempt 2)
If unsuccessful, perform cut away procedures

Question 2

Floating ripcord

Answer 2

Look during normal pull sequence and identify malfunction (attempt 1)
Trace ripcord cable housing with index finger and thump making an O around ripcord
Trace ripcord cable to ripcord handle and pull to full arm extension (attempt 2)
If unsuccessful perform cut away procedures

Question 3

Pack closure

Answer 3

After the jumper pulls the main ripcord, raise the right shoulder and return to neutral body position
If after 2 seconds the main parachute doesn’t deploy raise the right shoulder again and return to neutral body position
If after another 2 seconds the main parachute doesn’t deploy, perform cutaway procedures
