Ecocentric and biocentric worldviews
What are the 2 examples of human-centred worldviews?
Egocentric and anthropocentric worldviews
What does an egocentric worldview state?
Humans are the most important creatures on Earth, and everything else is important to the extent that they support humans and their lifestyle

What does an ecocentric worldview state?
Humans should do whatever we can to minimise our impact and preserve the Earth’s biodiversity, and that we are no more important than any other organism
What does a biocentric worldview state?
Humans have a responsibility to use the Earth’s resources in a sustainable way, and other species may be useful to us but also have as much right to exist as us`
