Q
What causes lunar and solar eclipses? Which one is one person more likely to see? Why?
A
A lunar eclipse occurs when the earth passes between the moon and the sun, and the earth’s shadow obscures the moon or a portion of it. A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the earth and the sun, blocking all or a portion of the sun.
Lunar eclipses are more widely visible because Earth casts a much larger shadow on the moon during a lunar eclipse than the moon casts on earth during a solar eclipse
