difference between technician and designer?
A theatre Lighting Technician (LT) prepares and operates the lighting system for a production. They make the lighting effects for live theatre productions based on the designs created by the Lighting Designer (LD).
What does a stage manager do?
Stage managers facilitate communication across all creative and technical departments; act as a right hand to the director; oversee sets, props, lights, and sound; and call all technical cues during performances.
Difference between tech and dress rehearsal?
Dress Rehearsal is a runthrough of the show with actors and their costumes. The technical rehearsal is without actors (therefore, without costumes and props) so that lights, sound, and running crew can rehearse their parts and make sure everything is working.
