A

Day - ceiling not below initial approach level and pilot can maintain visual reference with terrain

Night - pilot has runway lights in sight, AD beacon, REIL, or approach lights are insufficient

A

Day - 16km, ceiling 1000ft above minimum radar vectoring altitude or procedure commencement altitude

Night - NZCH 11/29 only, 16km, no cloud below 5000ft
