‘Fly good Fleance, fly, fly, fly’

In this moment as Banquo is being murdered he knows the murderers are going to want to kill fleance too so he tells him to run so that he is safe and one day the prophecies from the witches will come true

This shows the audience that things are seemed to be fair and good however are actually ‘foul’ and evil. the withes are united to try and trick macbeth

Macbeth acknowledges hallucination and reflects on his conscious mind on what is really happening

The two sons of Duncan are now known as the murderers of king Duncan. This is ironic as we as the audience know that Macbeth killed the king.

Presents an image of a crossbow that is attacking Macbeth’s masculinity and uses language of violence and war

Shows that the war was violent and groosem and ‘BRAVE MACBETH’ has a very strong reputation

Shows the audience that his thoughts are troubling him and suggests that Macbeth is unable to get relief from sleep

This is a metaphor to show the audience that Macbeth no longer has any fear

This shows lady macbeth’s instability and how she is trying to remove the blood of Duncan from her hands

Following Macbeth’s visit to the witches we are able to see that he has been consumed with anger and decides from now on he will act immediately on his thoughts and increase terror on his reign
