Repetiton
Reapeating/doing something more tha once meaning having words be reapted in a sentence.
Symbolism
A person, situation, or object/item that helps represent an idea of some sort. (In the Landlady we saw yellow Chrystanums which are a type of flower that helped symbolise death)
Simile
Comparing two things to give a more vivid picture to readers WITH like or as
Metaphor
Without using like or as to describe one thing by comparing another
Oxymoron
Two opposite words right next to each other (EX: Bright smoke or peaceful war)
Anaphora
Repetition of phrases or words to create a statement or emphasis. (EX: I have a dream… I have a dream… I have a dream..)
Juxtaposition/antithesis
When two contrasting ideas are next to one and another, to create emphasis (EX: A tiny cat is sitting on a rug next to a big dog)
Aliteration
Where words in a sentence or phrase start with the same sound/letter.(Peter pipper picked a pepper)
Siblance
S or SH being used to create a hissing or rushing sound in poetry
Flashback
is a suddent and vivid rembrance of a past exprience, usually triggered by smell or an object or a sound…exct exct
Anedocte
Another word for dialoug betwhen two charecters
Persofication
When we give human charectristics to non-living objects. (EX: The trees waved through the strong wind or the clouds cried tears of rain0
PLE
Is three perssuasive techniques used in speechs or markiting or ads mostly, they stand for Pathos, Logos, and Ethos.
Pathos
A purssasive technique that uses stricking up emotions in people to persuade them on something. (EX: An ad with crying children begging for donations and food)
Logos
A pursswasive technique that uses logic meaning precentages and satistics to purswade people. (There is a 50 precent chance of dying if we dont act now)
