What’s the difference between “this”, “that”, “these” and “those”?

A

“This” and “that” are singular, whereas “these” and “those” are plural.

“This” and “these” are usually used for things that are physically CLOSE TO YOU, whereas “that” and “those” are usually used for things that are FAR AWAY FROM YOU.
