Symbolism
Images, objects, persons, situations, or words that represent something else like an abstract idea
Suspense
A state or feeling of excited or anxious uncertainty of what may happen this can be created by music and lighting, dramatic irony foreshadowing… Cliffhanger or Asterix
Irony
Discrepancy between expectation and reality, dramatic, irony, verbal irony, and situational irony
Foreshadowing
Usually appears with being of a story and helps a reader develop expectations of coming events
Flashback
Used to show events in the past help answers, unanswered questions can bring closure to the plot
Atmosphere
The type of feeling that readers got from a narrative based on details such as setting background, objects and foreshadowing
Mood
How the reader feels when reading the peace
Tone
The intended mood from the author
Juxtaposition position
A person concept, place object theme or idea, place near another of the same kind for contrast or comparison
Analogy
Explaining an idea or thing by comparing it to something that is familiar, for example, example of the heart is a pump
Motif
A reoccurring object, image idea or symbol that develops or explains a theme in literary work
