Allusion
Reference to something widely kwon from literature, art, history, media, politics, etc. Connection for better understanding.
Antagonist
Opponent in a competition , battle etc. Creates interest through conflict.
Anti-Hero
A protagonist who lacks the positive attributes of an archetypical hero and posses the attributes of the archetypical Villan instead. Thus blurring the lines of hero and villain
Apostrophe
A figure of speech in which some absent or non existed person or thing is addressed as if preset and able of understanding
Dialogue
Conversation in a book play or film
Doppelgänger (Double Going)
A ghostly double of a living person especially one that haunts fleshly counter parts of a paranormal double of a living person typically representing evil or misfortune
Dramatic Tension
Suspense of a feeling of uncertain and anxiety. Bad up to big even; tension=primary emotion keeps readers attention
Epistolary Narration
A novel written as a series of characters (letters diaries newspaper)
Flashback
A seen in a film play book that shows something that happened in a story
Foil
A character who contrasts with another character in order to highlight particular qualities of the other character
Framing Device
Any element at the beginning of a wrok that is repeated toward the end of the work to frame the story
In Media Res
In the middle of things. Engage the internet of an audience, provide space for flash backs.
Motif
an idea or image repeated a lot
Myth/Mythology
A tradition of legendary story using concerning some being or without a determinable basis of a fact or a natural explanation
Parody
A piece of writing music etc. or an action that copies someone or something in an amusing way
