Irony is a literary device in which an expected outcome does not happen, or its opposite happens instead

When a word, phrase, or object repeats throughout the book
Symbolism
A literary device that contains several layer of meaning. It can be an object, person, situation, or action.
Theme
The central organizing phrase and it grows from the conflict. The moral or lesson the author conveys. Never one word.

Signpost: Word of the Wisers
Aha moment
When you’re reading and suddenly a character realizes, understands, or finally figures something out.
Juxtaposition
Placing two things side by side so as to highlight their differences.

Foreshadowing
When the author includes a hint or clue that suggests what action is to come.
Signpost: Again and again
Interrupter
Uses dashes to interrupt the sentence and insert information in the middle of the sentence for dramatic impact. will make sense with or without it.
EX: “I’s said at the party - I knew I was acting like the kind of friend I wanted to be “
Mood
Literary device what a writer used to create and emotional quality for the reader thought the use of words. The emotional response emotions and connection within a story.
