refer to only three english words

Indefinite Articles
refers to 2 of the 3 articles. The two that are referred to are

They are used to refer to nouns that are not clearly specified.

Definite Articles
refers to 1 of the 3 articles in this case it is

“the” is called the definite particle because it refers to the more specific, identifiable people, places or things. such as
(the old truck driver) (the Mississippi river) (the explosion)

Unsure if a word is a noun?
If your unsure if a word is a noun, put one of the three articles in front of it. If the combination of article+word sounds like something you’d use it is probably a noun.

substitute I or Me in its place to test if the pronoun is the object or the subject
in a sentence do not mix what pronouns
