What are indications of an engine fire?

A
  1. Smoke or flames from the engine compartment
  2. Discolouration, bubbling, and or melting of the engine cowling skin
  3. Abnormally high CHT, EGT, and oil temperature
  4. Fluctuating fuel pressure, oil pressure, and rpm
  5. Erratic or rough engine operation accompanied by other indications of engine fire
  6. Scent of burning gasoline, oil, or other components in the engine compartment
  7. Severe engine damage with fuel leakage

What are the actions of an engine fire on the ground?

A
  1. Fuel shutoff valve—off (lift the fuel shutoff valve handle release and pull the handle fully aft…)
  2. Cabin heat—off (move the lever fully upward to OFF to prevent flow of fumes, smoke, and fire through the cabin heat system in the cockpit)
  3. Mixture—idle cutoff
  4. Ignition switch—off
  5. Gen/bat master switch—off
  6. Emergency ground egress
