Q

List the seven steps for an engine fire in flight

A
  1. Fuel shutoff valve—off (lift the fuel shutoff valve handle release and pull the handle fully aft…)
  2. Cabin heat—off (move the lever fully upward to OFF to prevent flow of fumes, smoke, and fire through the cabin heat system in the cockpit)
  3. Fuel pump—off (press the fuel pump rocker switch down to the off)
  4. Flaps—cruise
  5. Airspeed—73 KIAS (adjust pitch attitude and trim to establish a glide at 73 with flaps at cruise)
  6. Landing site—select, turn for ELP intercept (select a suitable forced landing site that is safely within gliding distance and turn as required to intercept an Emergency Landing Pattern. if conditions permit, plan to intercept high key directly above the touchdown zone or slightly offset at approximately 1600 AGL, tracking in the direction of landing. if unable to intercept high key, the ELP can be intercepted in at any point between high key and short final approach.
  7. Forced landing
