What are the five actions when you depart a prepared surface?

1. Control stick—full aft (hold the control stick full aft to decrease weight on nose gear. Will also help reduce the risk of a propeller strike)
2. Mixture—idle cutoff (squeeze the safety lock of the red mixture control knob and move it fully aft. This will cause the engine to fully shut down. Getting the propeller to stop early can help prevent a propeller strike)
3. Ignition switch—off (rotate the key fully counterclockwise to ignition switch off)
4. GEN/BAT master switch—off (press the red Gen/bat master switch down to the off position to remove the generator and battery as sources of power to the electrical system)
5. Emergency ground egress
