Check water pump
Check alternator
Check air compressor
Make sure water pump is not cracked bent broke or loose properly mounted and secure with no leaks
Make sure alternator is not cracked bent broke or loose properly mounted and secure
Check the wiring
Connections have no corrosion
Wires are not cut, frayed dry rotten or loose properly mounted and secure
Check belt
Should not have more than 3/4th in play in the middle
Belts are not cut frayed dry rotten or loose properly mounted and secure
Make sure air compressor is not cracked bent broke or loose properly mounted and secure with no leaks
Look for a belt, if no belt is attached, it is gear driven
Look under rather for any major leaks
Check all hoses
Make sure they’re not cut frayed dry rotten or loose. Properly mounted and secure with no leaks
Check the steering
Start at the steering box
Make sure it’s not cracked bent broke or loose properly mounted and secure with no leaks.
The hoses are not cut frayed dry rotten or loose properly mounted and secure with no leaks
From this point on. I will check the other side of the truck same as I am checking this side
Start with the steering linkage
5 parts Pitman Arm Drag link Steering knuckle Steering arm Tie rod
Recent greased all caps bugs and carter pins are present
They are not cracked, bent broke or loose properly mounted and secure
Check the front wheels
Start with the tire
Shouldn’t be any bubbles or bulges
Must have at least 4/32nd of an inch tread depth
Check the air pressure with a rubber hammer or gauge
Make sure tires are not cut frayed dry rotten or loose
Properly mounted and secure with no leaks
Check Rims
Should have no illegal welds
Valve stems are present, caps are tight, rims are not cracked bent broke or loose.
Properly mounted and secure with no leaks
Check lug nuts
Make sure they are all present
Look for rusty trail on the face of the rim like a tear, this could mean they are loose
Shininess on the edges could mean they have been stripped
Make sure they are not cracked bent broke or loose properly mounted and secure with no leaks
Check axle seal or hub oil deal
Make sure they are not cracked bent broke or loose properly mounted and secure with no leaks
Check front suspension
Springs are not shifted or missing
Shock absorbers have no leaks
U-bolts are present on the middle mount
Check spring mounts, front, middle, and rear. All present
None cracked bent broke or loose properly mounted and secure
Front brakes
Hoses and lining not cut frayed dry rotten or loose
Properly mounted and secure with no leaks
Brake chambers
Not cracked bent broke or loose properly mounted and secure with no leaks
No parts are missing
Or say the clamp is present and tight
Slack adjuster and Push rod
When you apply brakes
Slack adjusters move to 90 degrees
When brakes are not applied, they should have no more than one inch free play
Make sure they are not cracked bent broke or loose properly mounted and secure with no leaks
Check drums and lining
I would check the drums and lining but I cannot see them, they are behind the rim
If I could see them, make sure the drums are not damaged
Linings must be at least a quarter inch thick. No grease, no oil

Driver fuel area: check the door and mirror bracket
Make sure they are not cracked bent broke or loose properly mounted and secure
The rubber seal inside the door is not cut frayed dry rotten or loose.

Fuel tank
Make sure the cap and straps are present and tight
Tank is not cracked bent broke or loose. Properly mounted and secure with no leaks
Check the catwalk and steps
Make sure they are free of trash
They are not cracked bent broke or loose properly mounted and secure
