Talk about your accomplishment (career wise)
- “Media content” has been the key word of my life & my career
- Living abroad in my teenage years made me more keen of the internet/mobile phone/& social media to communicate with families and friends abroad
- & various int’l media contents and movies
- Such experience motivated me to build my experience in the media industry

What did u do in Herald?
- As a part of Advanced Strategy Office, which manages and supports its subsidiaries’ major businesses,
- I was especially involved in developing Brand Identity and Corporate Identities and promoting them through various media outlets focused on online media.
- I was mostly in charge of organizing PR materials (brochure) & planning out homepages and managing social media accounts.
- With my experience in journalism, I’ve also been involved in writing press releases as well as campaign slogans
- The work that I’m the most proud of: re-launching campaign for a cable TV channel Beyond Donga (previously Donga TV)
-> as a project manager - planned out a campaign that set aside this channel from other woman’s channels
- I created storyboards of 3 campaign video series that represents various aspects of confident and passionate women’s lives
- that viewers could sympathize with.
- This concept extended in designing the channel’s website and channel programming.
=> my experiences in the production and distribution of media contents really helped my execute this project

- Set up yearly line up from 20th C Fox films to distribute in Korea
- Plan/Carry out online&offline mkting strategies (e.g. movie premiers, social media mkting) to attract potential audiences

- this is where I feel i can combine my interest & experience 경험과 관심사를 복합적으로 업무에 투영
- My passion for movies motivated me to participate in UCLA Summer Session program where I took Film&Music course.
- Outside of school, I visited various historical film sites in LA area (eg. Hollywood, Universal Studios, Chinese Grove Theater, El Capitan)
- To further develop these interests, I studied Communications in graduate school, concentrating on content industry.
- When I was an undergraduate student, I was more interested in content production
- BUT in SNU I learned that the distribution & mkting of contents are becoming more vital in this era where there are too many choices for consumers.
- So I decided to be a part of this field which connects the producers and the audience

Most proud accomplishment

Advanced Strategy Office, Herald Corporation: Seoul (Apr. 2013 – Present)
- Managed the group’s and the subsidiaries’ corporate identities and brand identities, including the Herald Original Online Content for the Herald Business newspaper, cable channel Beyond Donga, and whole food brand Organica.
- Planned, designed, and set up homepages and social media accounts for brands focusing on visual representation of each brands and having unified corporate images.
- Developed strong communication skills via interacting with the company’s executives and cooperating with the advertising agency.
- Researched and translated English articles on media industry for staff education purposes.
Student NGO Reporter, Joongang Ilbo Institute for Civil Society and Environment: Seoul (Jul. 2009 – Mar. 2010)
- Covered news, both written and in video form, on civil society and social contribution of companies
- Planned the contents and layout of the webzine with editors and other reporters

- Arranged and conducted numerous interviews with variety of people both in Korean and English
- Co-worked with PR personnel from various companies for covering related news
- Organized previous news data and researched for news-related items, created news packages by editing video and writing articles in English

- Assisted professor in designing a new course for an interdisciplinary program of Information & Culture Technology Studies
- Researched and put together presentation materials on Korean entertainment/cultural industry
- Developed strong insight in social media while preparing course materials and giving in-class presentations to students

대학원 왜 갔나
초등학생때부터 인생의 큰 일부였던 미디어/콘텐츠
평생 미디어 분야에 종사하고자 했고
그러기 위해선 미디어에 대한 심도 있는 공부가 필요하다 느낌

대학원 간 게 도움 될거 같나?
미디어를 단순 산업으로 보지 않고
일상에 침투해 있는 것으로 인식하게 됨
+ 생산자와 소비자 사이의 mediator의 역할의 중요성에 대해 깨닫게 된 순간.
+ 디지털네이티브라는 미래의 새로운 소비자/생산자에 대한 이해도 높아짐
