When a light is shined through a meduim and then through a prism, it causes the electrons in the atom to be energized and move up a level resulting in the use of a photon which causes the black lines in the absorption spectrum. Check with soloman

emission spectrum is the rays of light that is produced as electrons fall down a level
how does emission spectrum prove that energy of the atom is quantized
it demonstrates how there are discrete levels in the atom which have unique energy levels. There is no in-between of levels similar to a staircase.

why wont hydrogen atoms break apart with no neutrons ?
because only one single proton and thus the nucleus wont repel itself like other elements
why doesnt the electron of hydrogen just leave instead of gaining another
because the nucleus is positive and therefore the electron wont escape cuz it attracts eachother.
