Divided into two lobes- the anterior pituitary and posterior pituitary.

Thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, adrenal gland, pancreas.

Describe some clinical consequences of autoantibodies?
A
Hyperthyroidism= High T3 or T4, Hypothyroidism= low T3 or T4

What are the parafollicular cells and what’s its role?
A
Neuroendocrine cells that migrate into the thyroid development in the embryo. Role: monitor plasma concentrations and decrease Ca2+ levels.

A
Outer- Zona glomerulosa, Middle- Zona fasciculata, Inner- Zona reticularis.
