Patient’s diagnosed w/ cirrhosis have an increased risk of varices d/t portal HTN which can lead to bleeding.

Can be a complication of thoracic aortic aneurysm repair. Develops d/t lack of blood flow to the intestine.
Signs/Symptoms of Mesenteric Ischemia
1) Tachycardia & Tachypnea
2) Metabolic acidosis
3) Abdominal pain
