What is hormones?
It is a chemical substance produced in the body that controls and regulates
the activity of certain cells or organs.
What does it mean when we say “OVERSECRETION AND
UNDERSECRETION OF HORMONE”
Hypersecretion is when an excess of one or more hormone is secreted from a gland. Hyposecretion is when the amount of hormones that are released is too low. There are many types of disorders that can result when too much or too little of a hormone is released.
What do you mean by GLUCOCORTICOIDS?
- Increase the availability of glucose.
- Potent immunosuppressants used to prevent organ-transplant rejection.
- Used to promote lung maturation in premature infants Increase the availability of glucose.
What are the contraindications when we use drugs on adrenal glands?

What is the cause of hyperthyroidism?

What are the drugs that is used to treat hyperthyroidism?

What are the adverse effects of thyroid drugs?
Thyroid Suppression: Drowsiness, lethargy, bradycardia, nausea, skin rash.
PTU: N/V, GI complaints.
Methimazole: bone marrow depression.
What is diabetes mellitus?
Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic
disorders of fat, carbohydrate, and
protein metabolism that results from
defects in insulin secretion, insulin action
(sensitivity), or both.
What are the cause of hypoglycemia?
Taking too much insulin. Not eating enough carbs for how much insulin you take. Timing of when you take your insulin. The amount and timing of physical activity.
What is the maximum duration of Aspart insulin?
5-6 hours
