What are potential causes of short stature
A
Familial IUGR (about 1/3 will be short) or prematurity Constitutional delay of growth and puberty Endocrine (hypothyroidism, GH deficiency, Cushing syndrome)
Nutrition or chronic illness
Psychosocial deprivation
Chromosomal disorder/syndrome

What is constitutional delay in puberty/growth
A
Delayed puberty (often familial - same sex)
Variation of normal timing of puberty. May be induced by dieting or excessive exercise. Child will have delayed sexual changes compared to peers and bone age would show moderate delay.
Eventually, target height reached.
Puberty can be started by androgens or oestrogen if needed
