What is endocardiosis?
A
Degneration of the endocardium, especially around the valves “leaky valve syndrome”
(most common cause of congestive heart failure in dogs)

What breeds are predisposed to endocardiosis?
A
CKCS, Poodles, Pekinese

Endocardiosis
A
Chronic fibrosis and nodular thickening of valve cusps result in failure to close and consequently, regurgitation of blood in to the atria

Clinical signs of Endocardiosis
A
-Left sided heart failure leading to congestive heart failure -cough -exercise intolerance -dysponea -heart murmur
