Increased
- release of corticosteroids during illness results in increased glucose mobility and blood sugars
Should insulin be increased or decreased during exercise?
Decreased - exercise uses up sugars, so less sugar needs to be shuttled into cells
What happens to insulin requirements during puberty?
Increase - sex steroids, GH are coutnerregulatory hormones (antagonise insulin) increasing blood sugars. Daily insulin requirement increases
