- Illegal killing / poaching / hunting for parts / collection
- Pollution
- Diseases
- Predators
Extinct
An extinct animal is an animal that is no longer exists or lives anywhere in the world as it died out. Examples include the dodo and dinosaurs

Why they kill crocodiles and alligators
Skin is used for shoes, handbags and belts
Why are leopards, cheetahs, Tigers and jaguars killed
Fur is used in clothes and bones used for making traditional medicines in some Asian countries
Why are turtles and tortoises endangered
Can no longer breed on beaches since they are full of tourists
Why are rhinos killed
Killed for their horns - a dagger with a rhino horn handle costs £10,000
Why are blue butterflies killed
Virtually extinct in the uk as their natural habitat has been destroyed
Why are whales and dolphins killed
Killed for food or caught in a fishing net accidentally

Killed for their ivory tusks ( used in making ornaments )
