what must the employer provide the employees with in terms of training in health and safety
Afarp, every employer must provide employees with any information instruction, training or supervision that is necessary to enable them to perform their work safely and without risk to health
What should the employer ensure the employees are familiar with with regards to health and safety
Afarp, every employer must provide employees with work-related hazards and risks and the measures that must be taken to eliminate, control and minimise those hazards and risks
what should the employer ensure the employees are properly trained in?
as far as reasonable practicable, every employer must ensure that every employee is properly trained
a) to deal with every risk to9 the employees health or safety that:
i) is associated with any work that the employee has to perform ii) has been recorded in terms of section 11 b) in the measures necessary to eliminate, control and minimise those risks to health and safety
c) in the procedures to be followed to perform that employee’s work,, and
d) in relevant emergency procedures
when and how must the employer ensure the employees receive training?
a) before the employee firsts starts work
b) at intervals determined by the employer after consulting with the
health and safety committee
c) before significant changes are introduced to procedures, mining and ventilation layouts, mining methods, plant and equipment and material and
d)before significant changes are made to the nature of the employees occupation or work
must the employer keep record of the training?
yes, the employer must keep a record of all formal training provided in respect of each employee in terms of subsection 2
what must all mines submit to the Mining Qualifications Authority
All Mines must submit a workplace skills plan and the annual training reports to the mining Qualifications Authority
