Varieties: Min. 85% Grechetto (Pignoletto, or Alionzina), max. 15% other non-aromatic white grapes suitable for cultivation in Emilia-Romagna
    Sparkling Wines may include a maximum 15% of Pinot Nero and/or Pinot Grigio.
    Classico Wines must include a minimum 95% Grechetto.

Sparkling Wines: 11%
Superiore: 11.5%
Classico Superiore: 12%
Maximum Residual Sugar:
Frizzante: Secco
Spumante: Brut Nature to Extra Dry
Superiore: Secco to Abboccato
Classico Superiore: 6 grams per liter (an additional 0.2 g/l of sugars are permitted for every 0.10% alcohol above 13%.)
Aging Requirements: May not be sold until April 1 of the year after harvest

Amabile: 12-30 g/l
Dolce: 45-80 g/l
Passito Minimum Must Weight and Other Requirements:
Passito: Minimum 284 g/l must weight after drying
Passito Riserva: Minimum 400 g/l must weight after drying
Passito Riserva must exhibit “muffa noble” (noble rot)
Grapes for Passito and Passito Riserva may be dried until March 30 of the year following the harvest, and may not be vinified prior to October 15 of the harvest year
Aging Requirements:
Passito: May not be sold until September 1 of the year following the harvest
Passito Riserva: May not be sold until December 1 of the year following the harvest
Minimum Planting Density: varies according to training
