Emergency Procedures Pt 1 Flashcards
1
Q
Engine failure in flight (Unscheduled torque increase, engine fire in flight either flashers or engine failure in flight)
A
- Condition lever - fuel cutoff*
- Prop lever - feather
- firewall shutoff valve - close
- fire extinguisher (if fire warning persist) - actuate*
2
Q
Engine fire on the ground either flashers:
A
- Condition lever - fuel cutoff*
- firewall shutoff valve - close
- ignition and engine start - starter only
if fire warning persist:
- fire extinguisher (if installed) - actuate*
3
Q
Engine failure during take-off (at or below V1)
A
- Power levers - ground fine*
- Brakes - as required to achieve stopping distance
- Operative engine - maximum reverse
4
Q
Engine failure during take-off (at or above V1)
A
- Power - maximum allowable*
- airspeed - maintain (take-off speed or above)
- Landing gear - UP
- Prop levers (inop engine) - Feather (or verify prop feathered if autofeather is installed)
- Airspeed (after obstacle clearance is reached) - Vyse*
- Flaps - UP
- Clean-up inoperative engine (see clean-up procedure)
- Electrical load- monitor
5
Q
Engine failure in flight below Vmca:
A
- Power - reduce as required to maintain control*
- Nose - lower to accelerate above Vmca*
6
Q
Engine flameout (2nd engine)
A
- Power lever - idle
- prop lever - do not feather
- condition lever - fuel cutoff
- conduct air start procedure in abnormal procedures
7
Q
Fuel system low pressure either flashers
A
- Standby pump (failed side) - on
8
Q
Emergency engine shutdown on the ground:
A
- Condition levers - fuel cutoff*
- Prop levers - feather
- firewall shutoff valves - close
- Master switch (gang bar) - OFF*
