Emergency Procedures Flashcards
Cabin Door Unlocked (CABIN DOOR annunciation)
*All occupants - seated with seat belts on
Cabin sign - no smoke/fsb
Cabin differential pressure - reduce to lowest value practical (0 preferred) by descending/selecting higher cabin altitude setting
Oxygen - as required
Land at nearest airport
Emergency Exit
Emergency exit handle - PULL (plug type and opens into the cabin)
Before flight, always ensure door is unlocked
Spins
- Control Column - full forward
- Full rudder - Opposite direction of spin
- Power levers - idle
- Controls - Neutralize when rotation stops
- Execute smooth pullout
NO spin tests have been conducted
Cabin door annunciation circuitry check
Battery - On
With door open & mechanism in locked position, ensure CABIN DOOR annunciation is illuminated
With door closed & latched, but not locked, ensure CABIN DOOR annunciation remains illuminated
With door closed & locked, ensure CABIN DOOR annunciation is EXTINGUISHED
Battery - Off
Electrical smoke or fire
- Oxygen
- Oxygen system ready: Pull on (verify)
- Crew: Don masks (100% position)
- Mic selector: Oxygen Mask
- Audio speaker: On
Cabin temp mode - off Vent blower - auto Aft blower (if installed) - off Avionics - off Nonessential electrical equipment - off
if smoke or fire ceases
Individually restore avionics and equipment previously turned off
Isolate defective equipment
if smoke persists or fire extinguishing not confirmed
Cabin pressure - dump
Land ASAP
Generator inoperative
Load meter - verify Gen is off (0% load)
Generator- reset, then on
If generator will not reset:
Generator - off
Load meter - don’t exceed 100% (88% above 31,000)
Excessive load meter indication
Battery - off (monitor load meter)
If loadmeter still indicates above 100%:
Nonessential electrical equipment - off
If loadmeter indicates 100% or below:
Battery - on
Circuit breaker tripped
Nonessential circuit - Do not reset
Essential circuit:
- Breaker - push to reset
- if it trips again - do not reset
Hot battery bus check
Fuel firewall valves - closed
Standby boost pumps - on (listen for operation)
Battery switch - on: FUEL PRESS light illuminates immediately
Fuel firewall valves - OPEN: fuel press light extinguishes
Standby boost pumps - off: fuel press light illuminates
Current limiter check
One generator - turn off either L or R
L & R Volt/Loadmeters - normal
28 Volts on both load meters - normal
Less than 28 volts on any load meter - failed current limiter
Fuel pressure low (L FUEL PRESS or R FUEL PRESS)
*Standby pump (failed side) - On
[FUEL PRESS] - Extinguished
Oil temperature and oil pressure gages (failed side) - Monitor
Crossfeed (one engine inop)
Crossfeed - L or R (FUEL CROSSFEED) - Illuminated
Standby pumps - off
Aux tank transfer - auto
Fuel balance - monitor
if fuel is required from the inop engines aux tank and reason for shutdown is not engine fire or fuel leak:
Firewall shutoff valve - Open (FUEL PRESS) Extinguished
No transfer light (inop engine) - extinguished in 30-50 seconds
to discontinue crossfeed
Crossfeed flow switch - off (centered)
Aux fuel transfer failure (no transfer annunciation)
Aux tank transfer - override
No transfer light - extinguished (if not, aux fuel may not be available)
Aux fuel - monitor
Aux tank transfer - auto (when aux tank is empty)
Fuel system check - with battery on
Firewall shutoff valve - Close
Standby pumps - on (listen for operation, both FUEL PRESS lights illuminate)
Firewall shutoff valves - open (both FUEL PRESS lights extinguished)
Standby pumps - off (both FUEL PRESS lights illuminated)
Crossfeed - L then R while verifying FUEL CROSSFEED light illuminates & FUEL PRESS light extinguishes
Crossfeed- Off
Aux tank transfer - auto
No transfer light - press to test
Engine Failure - Emergency engine shutdown
*Proceed with this checklist for:
Engine torque increase - unscheduled
Engine fire in flight
Engine failure in flight
*Affected engine Condition lever - fuel cutoff Prop lever - feather Firewall shutoff valve - closed Fire extinguisher (if installed) - actuate Auto ignition - off Generator - off Prop sync - off Electrical load - monitor
