  • do not remove the hood near sparks or open flame.

How do you operate the red rocket

A

1- hold the flare firmly by rubbed handle
2- unscrew the bottom red cap to expose the red ball and string.
3- hold the rocket vertically above the head away from the body.
4- ignite the flare by pulling the red ball sharply down.
5- hold the flare maintaining the firing position until the flare has discharged completely.

How do you operate the aurora and red hand flare?

A

1- hold the flare firmly by ribbed handle at arms length
2- point the flare downwind away from your face and body
3- unscrew the red/orange top to expose the red ball/string
4- ignite the flare by pulling the red ball sharply from the top of the flare
5- hold the flare at a 45 degree angle and maintain firing position until the flare has discharged completely.

  • only use when search or rescue craft are in the area
  • discharge flares from the downwind side
  • do not point at people
  • hold firmly until completely discharged, if it fails to operate, immerse in water.
