• Swelling involving superficial dermis, raising the epidermis
• Treat with antihistamines

• Deeper swelling involving the dermis and subcutaneous tissues
• Swelling of tongue and lips
• Treat with corticosteroids
• May lead to asphyxia, cardiac arrest and death

• Sarcoidosis, pregnancy, OCP, throat infection (URTI), TB, Everything else (IBD, non-hodgkins lymphoma), Drugs (sulphonylurea)
