A

once cleared the head, bring the baby down so the sup shoulder can clear symphysis pubis and then deliver bottom shoulder

steps of the birthing process (active phase)

A

1Head floating/before engagement

1Head pushing down on cervix and the head is flexed so it can fit under the symphysis pubis (most get stuck here)

  1. further descent, internal rot (called occiput anterior, which is easiest way for baby heaf to fit)
  2. Complete rot, begin extension (Babs head is putting major pressure on rectum(
  3. Complete extension (head has cleared the symphysis pubis and is visible)
  4. Restitution (external rot)- the babys head will restitute one way or the other in alignment w shoulders`

A

clamp the cord in 2 places midway bw the baby and vagina

-cut cord w sterile scapula
