State the captain’s emergency briefing (4)

A
  1. in the event of a decision to stop before V1, which is ____ either of us will cal “stop”
  2. I will simultaneously close the power levers to Beta and apply braking as required, and reverse as permitted by directional control. You (F/O) will advise the tower and the passengers. In the event of a fire, I will stop on the runway, considering the wind direction. I will apply the park brake and select flight idle.
  3. You will advise the passengers to remain seated
  4. We will assess the situation. If I decide to evacuate, i will set the park brake and select GND idle, you will get out and assist the passengers. i will cut both condition levers, feather both propeller levers, close both fuel firewall valves, and discharge the appropriate fire bottle, if required/installed. I will initiate the evacuation. I will advise ATC, switch the gang bar off and assist with the passengers.

After the captain briefing, the PF will continue and brief on (2) + (4):

A

Engine failure at or after V1:

  1. in the event of an engine failure at or after V1, the most important calls are “positive climb & gear up”. you will identify: “autofeather” or “no autofeather”. If no autofeather, i will verify and you will feather the affected engine. there will be no further actions before acceleration altitude of _____ft.
  2. At acceleration altitude, I will request “HDG and ALT and accelerate to Vyse. At Vyse, I will request “IAS”, “FLAP UP”, “Max Continuous Power”. I will then request the Memory Items for Engine Failure In Flight, Emergency Checklist, and Normal Checklist.”


OR

  1. In the event of an engine fire at or after V1, the most important calls are “Positive Climb” & “Gear Up”. You must identify the fire. There will be no further actions before acceleration altitude
  2. At acceleration altitude and above Vyse I will request “FLAP UP”.
  3. After flap retraction, I will request “Max Continuous Power” and the Memory Items for Engine Fire In Flight.
  4. Once complete, I will request “HDG” and “IAS”, the Emergency Checklist and Normal Checklist.
