Spin recovery
- Close throttle
- Full Opposite rudder (high rudder forces)
- Wait 2 sec (if no wait, rate of rotation increases)
- Control column ease forward (just forward of neutral), if moved to quickly possible inverted spin, if not moved forward possible reversal of spin direction
- Centralise rudder when spin stops
- Recover from dive
Glide speed max range
120kts
Glide speed max endurance
100kts
Go around/ overshooting
Apply full power smoothly
Raise landing gear and flaps to take off
Above 110 knots raise flaps completely
Engine Fire (Indication and immediate actions)
Indication: SWS FIRE light on, audio
Immediate actions:
Throttle……….. Closed (if practicable)
SWS…………… Cancel
Speed…………. Reduce, climbing turn if possible
Engine fire (warning light goes out after immediate actions)
Possibly hot gas leak
Declare mayday
Land asap using min power
Engine fire (FWL on, definite signs of fire after immediate actions)
HP Cock……………. Closed
LP Cock…………….. Off
Starting Master…… Off
Extinguisher……….. Operate (ideally below 200 kts)
Noxious fumes drill. As required
Radio call……………. Declare mayday
FWL goes out within 30 secs…… Homing checks, forced landing
FWL stays on….. Eject
Engine fire (FWL on, no definite sign of fire after immediate actions)
Spurious…….land asap using min power
Real…………..fire drill
Noxious fumes drill
Normal oxygen system………. EMERGENCY ON
D&C levers, aircon……………… OFF
Open canopy and check for signs of fire
Speed………………………………. Maintain below 180kts
Land asap
Engine mechanical failure (indications & actions)
Indications: drop in RPM and Pressure, increase JPT, mechanical noises from engine
Actions:
Throttle……….Closed
HP Cock……..Closed
LP Cock………Off
Start Master…Off
Homing checks, forced landing or eject
Do not attempt to relight
Flame out (indication and immediate actions)
Indication: falling JPT (below 200 degrees), RPM and pressure
Immediate actions:
Throttle…………… Closed
Relight button….. Press (max 30 sec)
If no relight: homing checks, cold relight
Flame out (Cold relight)
Battery switch.................On Start Master....................On Ignition switch................On Aircon.............................Off Demist / Rain Ice............Off LP Cock..........................On (low pressure caption out) HP Cock.........................Closed Throttle..........................Closed Speed............................120-170kts
Press relight button and open HP Cock
Keep button pressed for 30secs or 40% RPM
If no relight, release button, close HP Cock, wait 1 min if possible
Max height to attempt relight
15,000ft
12,000ft if booster pump failure
Compressor stall (indication and immediate actions)
Indication: lower RPM (10-15% below normal), higher JPT (100-200 degrees above normal), possible intake banging
Immediate actions:
Throttle……….closed
Restore stable intake conditions, if locked stall increase speed to > 200kts
Compressor stall (persistent locked stall after immediate actions)
Throttle………….. closed
HP cock…………. closed
Relight button…. press and hold
HP cock…………. open
Hold relight button for 30 secs or 40% RPM
