- Raised IO pressure
- Fixed dilated pupils
- Raised cup:disc ratio
Treatment of AACG?
- Beta-blocker drops (timolol)
- Pilocarpine drops (constricts pupil - moves iris away from blockage)
- Steroid eye drops
What age group is most at risk of orbital cellulitis?
Children
Main risk factor of orbital cellulitis?
Sinusitis
Four symptoms of orbital cellulitis?
- Erythema
- Pain
- Blurred vision
- Systemic infection (fever, malaise, etc.)
Three signs of orbital cellulitis?
- Proptosis
- Lowered visual acuity
- RAPD
What is RAPD? (relative afferent pupillary defect)
Partial constriction of pupil when light shone directly into affected side
Treatment of orbital cellulitis?
IV cefotaxime + flucloxacillin
Treatment of orbital cellulitis in penicillin allergy?
Clindamycin + quinolone
What age and sex is giant cell arteritis more common in?
Over 60 yrs, women
