A

Take place without warning. If no evacuation call from FD, No 1 must gain entry to FD to check for incapacitation
- “HEAD DOWN, GRAB ANKELS, STAY DOWN”

A

Pre-warned with a short time factor - up to five minutes.

“Cabin crew standby”

A

Used when FC become aware with a situation on the ground that is not immediately life threatening.
- All CC will immediately stop what they are doing
- All CC move quickly to assigned exit door
- All CC checks conditions inside and outside of a/c
- Be ready to evacuate if necessary

Rapid disembarkation

A

“Disembark the passengers immediately using all available doors” (2x)
- Non-normal situation while boarding/disembarking
- Leave belongings behind
- NOT using overwing exits/slides

Notification of emergency in-flight

A

“No. 1 to the flight deck”
- No. 1 picks up inter phone and says “Cabin to FD - No. 1 standing by”
- No 1 receives NITS from Captain, repeats back and synchronises watches
- No 2,3,4 stow trolleys and go to FWD galley to wait for No. 1
- No 1 gives NITS to No 2,3,4. They repeat as group and synchronise watches
- All CC must carry out the drill relevant to NITS briefing

  • SOS demo PA
  • S: survive the impact (show seatbelts and then brace position
  • O: get out (show exits and strip lighting/marking)
  • S: survive outside (show lifejackets [ditching] and safety cards)

Cabin preparation checklist

A

Planned emergency landing - time available
- High-heeled shoes removed (place in hatbox or hand baggage)
- Spectacles and false teeth removed (place in seat pocked, hand baggage or CC gash bag)
- Sharp objects removed from pockets (place in hand baggage)
- Loosen tight clothing
- Fit warm clothing (in cold weather conditions)
- Demonstration of BRACE position (safety card, show per few rows)
- Seat belts fastened low and tight around the hips
- Galleys: switch off all electrical equipment
