Formed by fusion of the dorsal and ventral buds.
What is the dorsal bud of the pancreas arise from?
From the duodenum
What does the dorsal bud give rise to?
duct of santorini (minor duct)
What does the dorsal bud become?
body and tail
Where does the ventral bud of the pancreas arise from?
From the hepatic diverticulum
What is the ventral bud of the pancreas connected to?
directly to the common bile duct
What does the ventral bud give rise to?
duct of wirsung (major duct)
How does the dorsal bud and ventral bud become 1 pancreas?
the ventral bud Rotates to the right and around posterior side of duodenum to fuse with dorsal bud
What does the ventral bud become?
head and uncinate process
What must be also removed if the head of the pancreas is also removed from cancer?
the duodenum
because they shed a blood supply
