EMBRYOLOGY Flashcards
Trophoblast
Cytotrophoblast and Syncytiotrophoblast which extends into the Uterine Wall as the embryo undergoes implantation
Hypoblast
- Develops on the surface of Inner Cell Mass facing Blastocyst Cavity
- Becomes the PRIMARY ENDODERM
Epiblast
Primary Ectoderm; Facing Amniotic Cavity
Hypoblast
Development of the Amniotic Cavity and Bilaminar Embryonic Disc
Primary Endoderm; Facing Primitive Yolk Sac
Endoderm
Epithelium of GI and Respiratory Tract, some glands
Mesoderm
Muscles, CT, Blood, Vessels, Skeleton, Reproductive, Excretory
Ectoderm
Nervous System, Epidermis, Hair, Nails, Tooth Enamel
Gastrulation
Bilaminar Disc becomes Trilaminar
Primitive Streak
Develops in the median place on the Epiblast surface
Primitive Node
Cranial thickening of the Primitive Streak
Primitive Groove
Forms IN the Primitive Streak; Epiblasts invaginate Ventrally
Differentiation of Early Embryo
- Zygote
- 2 Cells
- Morula
- Blastocyst w/ Blastocyst Cavity
- Cytotrophoblast and Inner Cell Mass
