list hardware and software version information
show version command
shows the current status of all interfaces including any virtual interfaces.
show ip interface brief command
provides detailed information about the interfaces, including encapsulation, MAC address (for Ethernet), bandwidth (speed), duplex, IP address, and DCE/DTE setting.
show interface
privilege level 1 command (by default) that is often run even when higher level access is not available,allowing for proper identification of configured interfaces and MAC/IP addresses.
show arp
displays information about CDP timer and holdtime parameters.
show cdp
Displays basic information about neighboring devices.
show cdp neighbors
Displays same information as show cdp neighbors plus IP addresses and remote device IOS information.
show cdp neighbors detail
applies Type 7 encryption to the plain text passwords.
service password-encryption
VLAN information and port status is viewed
show vlan brief
