Example of a warrior archetype

A

Quest: to win. Katniss’s inner calling is to win in the game
Fear: weakness. She must overcome her weaknesses and show courage in order to win
Dealing with dragon: Will slay/confront it. She is defiant and goes head-on against the capitol (poisonous berries)
Task: To fight for what matters. Determined to win for the sake of her family and district, uses violence only when necessary
Virtue: courage/discipline

Caregiver archetype

A

Quest: to help others. The little dwarf from “Queen Bee” prevents his brothers from destroying the animals’ homes
Fear: Selfishness. Does not want for himself
Dragon: Will take care of it and those it harms.
Task: give without maiming itself
Virtue: compassion

Quest: to regain safety. Cinderella is subject to her sisters' scorn. Wants to regain security from the past. Regained it when she married
Fear: being exploited. Sisters use her.
Dragon: to not be victimized by it.
Task: process and feel pain fully,
Virtue: Interpendence
