What is the “Generating Sequence”?
Each element is generated by one and generates another.
Wood generate Fire Fire generates Earth Earth generates Metal Metal generates Water Water generates Wood
A normal balance
What is the “Controlling Sequence”?
Each element controls another and is controlled by one.
Wood controls Earth Earth controls Water Water controls Fire Fire controls Metal Metal controls Wood
A normal balance
What is the “Over-acting Sequence”?
Follows the same sequence as the Controlling one, but each Element “over-controls” another, so that is causes it to decrease.
This happens when the balance is broken and, under the circumstances, the relationship among the Elements breaks down, so one Elements is excessive in relation to another.
What is the “Insulting Sequence”
Reverse order to the Controlling Sequence. Wood insults Metal Metal insults Fire Fire insults Water Water insults Earth Earth insults Wood
This also takes place when the balance is broken
